Internal Medicine Department

Internal medicine is the medical specialism that provides comprehensive care to ill adults, particularly with regard to the clinical problems of the majority of patients admitted in a hospital.

Its objective is the comprehensive care of patients with health problems in a hospital. It provides specialist medical care ranging from prevention, diagnosis and treatment to palliative care, providing a service with professionalism, privacy and personalised care.

It performs its essential work in:

• The diagnosis of diseases which are fundamentally complex and affect several organs.
• Inpatient care, playing a fundamental role in the overall vision of the patient, taking into ac the possible medical pathologies in order to offer a complete solution to the problems they present.
• Continuity of care in external consultations.
• Collaboration with the other professionals or departments as a consultant and coordinator of the fundamental pathology and comorbidities of the patient.

The internist doctors in our department have studied different areas in depth in order to remain up to date with the diagnostic and therapeutic advances of diseases such as infection, autoimmune diseases, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, etc.
